Seven Ways of Using Surplus Steel Pipe
There are certain steel pipes that are often referred to as secondary pipes and are available for sale. After any big project, there are plenty of steel items that remain unused, which may be in its original form or as a cut piece.
All such surplus steel can also be reused in many different ways and in this post, we shall discuss about this.
- Light structural use
Surplus or used steel pipes can always be utilized in many numbers of structural applications, which can be like sign poles, fencing, bollards, hand railings and also bridge railings.
- Foundation application
In many different varieties of construction applications these secondary materials can always be used which deal with strong and solid foundation creation.
One of the mostly used ways of such surplus steel pipes can be for piling. With this, it may provide a very stable foundation for any structures which are built over water, for instance on a river, bay, ocean canal or even in any swampy land.
- Increase strength
These surplus steels can also be utilized in situations where very high strength is required that would be supported by secondary materials.
As an example, foundation and bulkheads which has to be properly shored up or need a very dense under-girding to get additional strength will benefit from the use of any used or surplus steel pipe.
- Surface casting
There is one more way to make use of these surplus steel pipes and that is as surface casing.
In order to protect all water sands lying near oil fields that may not get contaminated and also for preventing any drilling fluids from leaking during drilling, surplus steel pipes can be used.
Such kind of extra pipe can set as shallow depth near the surface in such application.
- Road bore casing
These extra surplus steel pipes may also be used for creating secure and stable casing for the roadways. As these pipes can easily be sized down to any required sizes and also, they are available in many different diameters.
- Drainage and dredging
For drainage for the ponds and many other water sources, it can be used as a dredging pipe that can be quite effective too.
- Pipelines
In few cases, secondary materials are reused for the actual purpose for which they were originally planned. As an example, these used steel pipes can be overhauled and reused in new location and that can be safe or durable like any new material.
